Mark Cuban Crowdsources New Mavericks Uniforms
Entrepreneurial hero and NBA team owner Mark Cuban is no stranger to skipping the so called “normal” way of doing things.
The world got one more example of Cuban’s unique approach to business and sports team ownership on Tuesday afternoon. He used his personal blog to announce that his Dallas Mavericks plan to give their game uniforms a makeover for the 2015 2016 NBA season but there’s a catch.
Cuban’s team will only roll out the new unis, he writes, “if we get a unique and original design.” And to find a worthy look, Cuban isn’t just hitting up marketing companies or established designers. Instead, he’s crowdsourcing from the Mavericks fan base, asking the artistically minded to submit their own ideas.

## ## “You know what an NBA uniform looks like,” Cuban says in his call to action. “You know what the Mavs colors are for today and the past. We want some new ideas that stay true to our logo and [are] at least close to our current color schemes. Show us what you got!”
Designers are supposed to submit their ideas directly to Cuban’s blog or the website Crowdspring, and have until the last day of May to do so.
There are, however, a couple caveats. First, Cuban doesn’t promise that a fan design will be chosen at all. Second, the Mavs claim immediate ownership of all designs submitted. If that’s a problem, Cuban writes, feel free to simply not post an idea.
